We had so much fun writing the questions for our nominees to answer that we decided we were going to answer them too. Enjoy!
1. Why did you start blogging?
Amanda - I had been reading and following blogs for a few years and decided that I wanted to start my own. I thought about the hobbies idea and then decided that I wanted Sean to do it with me. I was surprised he agreed but I am so glad he did.
Sean - Amanda came to me one day and said she wanted to start a blog and thought it would be fun if I did it with her. I was a little uneasy about it at first, but it's been a lot of fun.
2. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind?
3. What is your favorite thing about your job?
Amanda - I love, love, love the kids that I work with. They make all the stress worth it.
Sean - That it's a reasonably low stress job and that I don't have to work weekends.
4. What is your favorite destressing activity?
Amanda - Crashing in front of some mindless TV is a great destresser for me.
Sean - Either watching a TV show/Movie on NetFlix or playing a video game.
5. How do you spend a typical day off from work?
Amanda - Saturday we usually run errands or I have a knitting meetup. Sunday is usually work around the house and grading papers.
Sean - Saturdays are usually our day to do something fun together or run errands. Sundays I go grocery shopping, prepare lunches and get ready for the upcoming week. I also try to squeeze in a round of disc golf if there is time and the weather cooperates.
6. What is your favorite city?
Amanda - No question for me, the answer is Sydney, Australia. I wrote about it here.
The Sydney Opera House, 2006 |
The Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco, 2005 |
Amanda - Chocolate! No question that I could eat chocolate every day.
Sean - Pizza. You can have a ton of different toppings so it would never get boring.
8. If you had a time machine, what would be the first place and time you would visit?
Amanda - I would love to travel back to Colonial America, maybe Williamsburg. I am in love with that time period - the fashions, the history, everything!
Sean - I would like to go forward a few hundred years and see how much technology has improved and see if there will ever be flying cars or if cities are like it is pictured in the Jetsons.
9. What movie would you like to see have a sequel or a remake?
Amanda - I would like to see another Harry Potter book and movie. Either Harry's life at the Ministry or the kids' life at Hogwarts. I am good with either!
Sean - The Running Man. I would love to see this movie redone and actually follow the book as it would make an awesome movie.
10. If you could choose any book, TV show, or movie character as your new best friend, who would you choose?
Amanda - Since I was a little girl, I wanted Anne of Green Gables to be my BFF. Getting to visit Green Gables on Prince Edward Island was a huge thrill!
Sean - Harry Potter as you could see both the muggle and wizarding world. Plus, I would get to be mates with Ron, Hermionine and the rest of the gang at Hogwarts.
11. What one song would you never want to hear again?
Amanda - There are several songs that I wish would go the way of the dodo. If I had to pick just one, I would have to say the will.i.am and Britney Spears song, "Scream and Shout". Otherwise known as the "Britney B*$&h" song. Ugh!!
Sean - Thrift Shop by Mackelmore. It's not a bad song but it was on the radio way too much when it was on the top 40 so now I can't stand to listen to it anymore. Mambo Number 5 is a very close second because they played twice it every morning at work for a few months.
We hope our nominees liked the questions we chose. We want you to participate as well. If you have a blog and you would like to answer these questions, please feel free to do so.
