1. What are the top 3 things you can't go a day without doing?

2. What are 3 things that scare you the most?

Amanda - Heights, death, being alone 

Sean - Being in a crowded space, having to speak in front of a lot of new people, meeting a lot of new people at one time.

Amanda - London, England --- Venice, Italy --- St. Petersburg, Russia

His and Her Sunday Social, Week 93

It is another Sunday and you know what that means. It is time for ---

 

1. How much time do you spend on Social Media a day?...be honest

Amanda - If you include Bloglovin' as "Social Media" then it's probably close to 2-3 hours (on a weekday, longer on a weekend).

Sean -About an hour or so a day. I like to see what my friends and family are up to and since many of them live on the other side of the world this is the easiest way to keep up with everyone.

  

2. How long were you reading blogs before you started a blog?

Amanda - Over a year. I couldn't decide on what I wanted my blog to be about.

Sean - I didn't really read blogs before I started blogging with Amanda. She brought up the idea of blogging together and that is how I got into it.

  

3. What is your favorite kind of cupcake?

Amanda - Cupcake Espresso - in Newcastle, Australia - makes a Triple Chocolate Cupcake - a chocolate cake, chocolate filling, and the best chocolate icing ever. I miss them! Since Australia is pretty far away, I will take a Panera chocolate cupcake in it's place.

Sean - I am also a Cupcake Expresso fan. They have so many good flavours but the Vanilla bean is my favourite.

4. Do you eat fast food? If so whats your favorite?

Amanda - I love, love, love Zaxby's. It is both awesome and dangerous that a new store opened 15 minutes from my home.

Sean - My favourites are Chick-Fil-A and Zaxby's. Chick-Fil-A has the best sandwiches and nuggets and Zaxby's has the best strips including the nibblers which are strips in a little bun with some secret sauce. Yum Yum!

  

5. What is the most random thing someone would find in your purse/wallet?

Amanda - A bottle of lime green nail polish. I got it in a Birchbox last summer and was going to ask the salon to use it during a pedicure. I forgot and never took the polish out.

Sean - For some reason I have not cleaned out the foreign currency that is in my wallet. There is a Canadian $2 coin and $15 in Australian bank notes. 

 

6. What is the weirdest TV show you watch?

Amanda - I don't know that I watch anything "weird". I like a lot of Food Network's shows and Bravo TV's shows, but nothing I would deem out of the ordinary.

Sean - NetFlix has introduced me to many weird and wonderful TV shows. I am currently watching "The 4400" but the weirdest one would probably be "An Idiot Abroad". It is about a British guy who is sent to all different places around the world to experience the culture of each country. He is very much out of his comfort zone and his commentary is hilarious. You need to check this series out when you get a chance!

Her Sunday Social, Week 92

Happy Sunday everyone! Sean and I had another long week, but yesterday was a fun day. Friend time and crafting time for both of us. Since it is Sunday now, that means it is time for - 

 

This week's questions are all about Pinterest. Since Sean does not have a Pinterest account, I am handling this week on  my own. I'm sure he will be back next week.

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?

I don't pin outfits. I like looking at them, but I don't pin them.

 

2. What is your favorite food pin?

I have so many recipes pinned. In fact I have three boards for recipes - dinner/lunch, dessert, and breakfast. It is so hard to pick one! This is my favorite pot roast recipe that I found on Pinterest. We make it at least once a month.

 

3. What is your favorite wedding pin?

Sean and I got married many years before Pinterest was invented. But I did set up a wedding board after my sister-in-law, Shellie, got engaged. I loved the idea of this shadow box filled with items from the wedding day. Such a great memento to hang next to a wedding portrait.

 

4. What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?

I love pinning patterns and tutorial videos for my knitting. I cannot wait to start this Zebra cowl. It looks like it is complicated, but the pattern is really easy.

 

5. What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?

I have a lot of quotes pinned that I look at when I need inspiration or a new direction. This is one I turn to when self-doubt and my constant self-critiquing needs to be put into check.

 

6. Share one more random pin you love.

I love all things to do with Queen Elizabeth and the British royal family. When I saw this quote, I liked the Queen a little bit more.

His and Her Sunday Social, Week 91

"Sunday, Sunday - Gotta love that day!" Not quite the lyrics that the Mamas and Papas gave the world, but it is fitting for our day. We love Sundays, because they are a day to chill and recoop from a long week and get ready for another week. It's also the day we participate in one of our favorite link-ups. So without further ado, here is this week's - 

 

1. What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?

Amanda - I did the oversized sweatshirts with the jeans that had been rolled and tucked into my scrunch socks. Yep - I did that.

Sean - It would have to be my school uniform. Even though I had no choice in whether I wanted to wear the uniform it was ugly as sin. Whoever thought steel grey polyester shirts and grey shorts was a good idea for a uniform needs to have their head examined or go work for a prison.

2. Who were your best friends in high school? Pics?

Amanda - No pics here on the computer, but I have tons of pics in albums. I had a great group of friends - Sarah, Danielle, Heather, Kim, Brooke, Debbie, Charity - who made high school fun, exciting, and full of laughs and luv. I am so grateful that I had them in my life. I miss them now!

Sean - We had a group of about 12 that hung out during recess and lunch but I only hung out with a few of them (Simon, Paul, Darren) outside of school. These were my best mates and I still stay in contact with them occasionally on Facebook.

3. What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?

Amanda - I usually just hung out at home or at a football game on a fall Friday night. Saturday night was spent with the friends I mentioned in #2. We were big on movies, sleepovers, and laughing until we cried. Sundays were church and family time.

Sean -  I had to think about this as I couldn't remember for a while. We would either go play field hockey, cricket, hang out at each others house or do something around town like visit the BMX track or the video game arcade. If it was hot we would also go to the pool and try not to get kicked out. It varied from weekend to weekend but it was always something that kept us entertained.

Billy Goat Hill was one of the steep hills in my home town. You could get some decent speed biking down this hill and we sometimes had challenges to see who could go the fastest.

4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that. 

Amanda - Nope. None.

Sean - Just the one in 11th grade. We met at work and dated for a few months, but she broke it off for some reason and hasn't talked to me since.

  

5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets!

Amanda - We didn't have any secret codes, but we had a lot of inside jokes because we spent so much time together. The biggest one was that we had a name for our little group - we were the Goats! Long story, but we would refer to ourselves that way and no one else would really know who or what we were talking about. That was fun!

Sean -We didn't have any secret codes. We probably would have forgotten what the code was so it wouldn't have been very effective.

  

6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?

Amanda - I would love to go back to my senior prom. We had such an amazing time together (same group as #2) and I had so much fun. 

Sean - It would be our two week Central Australia excursion (Field trip) in 10th grade. We spent two weeks with 3 busloads of students and some very brave teachers and traveled through the outback and then to the great barrier reef and back down the east coast. There are so many stories and memories from this trip that I will never forget and an experience I would love to do again and take Amanda with me.
