His: Saturday Snapshots: Stockton Beach

Have you liked our "His and Her Hobbies" Facebook page? If not, click here!

Today we are linking up with Melinda at West Metro Mommy for Super Saturday Snapshots.

My sister and her husband took us to Stockton Beach last year to drive on the sand dunes. There was plenty to see including this rusted out car. I thought it was a very interesting subject for a photo and is the subject for today's Saturday Snapshots.

There is probably a very interesting story behind how this car ended up on top of a sand dune and left there to rest. I probably will never know, but it would be interesting to find out how it got there and why it was left behind to rust.

Have you ever found anything interesting like this on a beach or during your travels?

  1. I agree. I can imagine all kinds of scenarios surrounding this rusted out car. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

  2. I love wandering along a beach looking for whatever has washed up. Not ever found a car though. The pictures are very dramatic with the menacing sky and light on the sand.

  3. Lots of unusual things washed up on Washington State's beaches after the tsunami in Japan, but I don't believe anyone has come across a car! I'm sure you're right -- there's a story there.

  4. I didn't even notice the car because the sky was so amazing. Great shot.
Yes, my novel Trail Mix should be available on Barnes and Noble too for the Nook. It will probably be a limited time though because of Amazon's near-monopoly. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. Great photos. I really like the first one with the dramatic sky. I haven't been to Stockton beach in ages- I should go again.

  8. We did the 4 WD tour along Stockton Beach a number of years...no old car that I remember, but the old ship wreck was still there, although breaking down quite a lot by then.

I love the colours & the effects of light & shadow in these 2 shots :-)
