Her What Works: The iHeart Radio App

Each Monday I share something that is working for me. It could be health related, a new product, or something completely random that I am loving. I just want to share what I have found that is working for me and will, hopefully, work for you too.

Sean made a cute button for it ---

A few years ago I was all about the Pandora Radio app. I loved using it to listen to music on my phone and iPad. Then I heard about a different radio app - iHeart Radio! It is so much better. Let me tell you how ---

Let's get our music on! ;)
When you open the app,  it shows a screen of channels you have listened to before if you are a returning listener. You can listen to radio channels from all over the country or channels that are specific music genres, artists, or time periods. I have found some great channels just by browsing the app.
They all look good to me! :)
My absolute favorite thing about this app and the reason that I deleted Pandora and won't go back, is the "Perfect for" feature of iHeart Radio. All throughout the day, they have different Perfect for options. This morning, this is what I saw.
I almost picked Road Trip just to see what would come up. Looked fun!
The Kids channels are fun - I've listened to them while playing with my niece. The Working Out channels are upbeat and motivating. My favorite channel that I cannot get enough of and listen to every time I open the app I found because I opened the app one morning and found a "Perfect for Getting Ready" station called Singing in the Shower. It is music from all genres, all time periods, that are fun and impossible to not sing along to.
You can "like" and "dislike" songs to help the app learn your tastes. After using it for a few months, I rarely have to hit dislike anymore.

Are you an iHeart Radio listener? What channels are your favorite? If you haven't tried this app yet, I think you should. I bet you will find something you love!

Her What Works - No Notifications

Today's What Works is something I did on a whim a few weeks ago, but has been a huge time saver for me. I am someone who has to eliminate all badge notifications as soon as they show up. Got mail? I have to check. Game notifications? I have to play. iMessage or Text? I have to read it. I just hate to see those little badge notifications.

Facebook was a big one for me. As soon as I saw the notification, I had to check it, which led to me checking my News Feed, commenting on posts, looking at pictures, etc. Next thing I know, 30 minutes has passed and I have lost time that I could have been doing other things for school or the house.

My solution was simple -  I turned the Notifications off. I turned off the Sounds, Badges, and Lock Screen notifications. Now, when I have time to check Facebook, I do. When I don't, there is no badge icon telling me that there is something for me to see. It's such a simple thing that is freeing up so much of my time. I love it!

Her - What Works: Knitted Dishcloths

Hi everyone! Wow - it's been a long time since I shared something on the blog. Sean did the A-Z Challenge this year and I've been sitting back watching him write awesome posts about Australia. If you missed any, please go check them out. They were all great.

We are introducing a new series on the blog today - each Monday I am going to share something that is working for me. It could be health related, a new product, or something completely random that I am loving. I just want to share what I have found that is working for me and will, hopefully, work for you too.

What's working for me this week? Knitted dishcloths!
One of my favorites - I love the pink, orange, and yellow combo.
This was one of the first projects I did as a knitter and I fell in love. Here's the link on Ravelry. I have made dishcloths for my mom, my sister, Sean, and friends. I love their ease to make and their versatility and strength. I can make one in a day (which is huge for me because I am a slow knitter so everything takes forever!) and Sean has told me that they are the best scrubbers for pots and pans he has ever used. My mom and sister use theirs in the kitchen for dishes, like Sean, and agree that they are the best for scrubbing pans - bonus: they don't scratch your non-stick pots and pans. I am making another one now that will be my face washcloth each night when I am taking off my makeup.

I love the Neapolitan look of this one - vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.
Don't know how to knit? Comment below with how many you want and which colors are your faves. I will knit and ship them by the end of summer. I only ask that you pay for shipping and $3 per washcloth (just to cover the cost of the yarn).

What's working for you today?

Happy Monday,
