Saturday Snapshots - Water fountain

Have you liked our "His and Her Hobbies" Facebook page? If not, click here!

Today we are linking up with Melinda at West Metro Mommy for Super Saturday Snapshots.

We decided to spend the day in Sydney last year so Amanda could see some of the sights and ride the ferries. We drove to Hornsby, which is on the northern edge of town to catch the train into the city. As we walked to the station we saw an interesting sculpture and took a few minutes to view it and to try and figure out what it was.

It looked like a fancy water fountain when I first saw it.

This is one of two signs that explained what each part of the fountain did. It is actually a huge clock.

A close up of the top of the fountain.

Another sign explaining the other parts of the fountain. The stories behind each part is quite interesting.

The whole center part of the fountain rotate throughout the day and completes a circuit every 12 hours.

It was an interesting find as we headed to the railway station and unlike anything I have seen before. Have you seen anything like this before?

  1. I love clocks, and the more intriguing the better! Thanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST

  2. That's a great water clock - I didn't know we had one in Sydney...looks like a day trip to Hornsby for me one day soon :-)
