K - K is for K's at the Ball Park

We are participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge again this year. The theme for this year is our Favourite Travel Spots in North America. Join us throughout the month of April as we revisit some of our favourite travel spots. No boarding pass, visa or passport needed!

The locations we feature are all places we have visited and the photos are ones taken by myself or Amanda (or possibly one of our family members)

If you missed some our our previous tour stops you can click here to see them

Yesterday we spent some time at the Jamestown Settlement. Today we are enjoying K's at the ballpark. For those who are not baseball fan a K is the term for a strikeout.

It is a goal of mine to visit all 30 Major League Ballparks. So far i have been to 6 MLB ballparks and 3 Minor league parks. Below are some photos from the ballparks we have been to. It may take a while but i hope to get to all 30 at some point.

San Francisco Giants in 2006. Our flight to Sydney didn't depart until 11pm so we watched an afternoon game. The Oakland Bay Bridge is in the background

Colorado Rockies in 2007. The row of purple seats on the upper level is exactly one mile above sea level. This was taken during a ball park tour prior to the game.

Baltimore Orioles in 2011. We got some really good seats for the game

Washington Nationals 2015. Team was not in town so we took a ball park tour

As part of the tour we were invited to pitch in the bullpen. I threw one strike but i doubt the Nationals will be calling me to join their team.

Toronto Blue Jays 2018. The windows near the top are hotel rooms and you can watch from your room. Prices for these rooms are around $500 per night.

Montgomery Biscuits 2012. They are the AA team for the Tampa Bay Rays. This used to be a railway station and they used the main building as part of the stadium.

Birmingham Barons 2012. They are the AA team for the Chicago White Sox. This was the last game they played at this stadium before moving to their new park downtown the following season

Norfolk Tides. This is our home team and are the AAA team for the Baltimore Orioles. We are hoping we can go to a game this year.
